Linders is currently seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator to join our team. This position requires hands-on experience with MIG and TIG welding on mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, as well as the ability to perform layout work from blueprints. This role requires a driven self starter who is motivated to perform quality work and contribute to the team atmosphere at Linders.

 

Position Title: Welder/Fabricator

Classification: Non-exempt (hourly)

Reports to: Production Manager

Salary: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour depending on experience

Job Type: Full Time 40 hours per week

Summary: Linders Specialty Company, Inc. is a custom metal fabricator specializing in roll bending and custom fabrication of steel, stainless steel and aluminum using our multiple roll bending processes and specialty equipment.

Linders is currently seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator to join our team. This position requires hands-on experience with MIG and TIG welding on mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, as well as the ability to perform layout work from blueprints. This role requires a driven self starter who is motivated to perform quality work and contribute to the team atmosphere at Linders.

Essential Duties:

  • Fabricate components to print specifications using MIG and TIG welding techniques
  • Assemble and weld large fabricated units with precision and attention to detail
  • Demonstrate proper welder setup and adjustment
  • Operate a manual plasma cutter
  • Identify steel wire alloys and corresponding gas mixes and their applications
  • Recognize common steel alloys and apply appropriate welding procedures

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a metal fabrication environment
  • Proficiency in MIG welding of steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints
  • Strong understanding of welding processes and materials
  • Working Knowledge of mathematics
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Willingness to learn

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a metal fabrication environment
  • TIG welding experience
  • Experience with overhead cranes, hoists, jibs and other lifting equipment
  • Advanced proficiency in MIG welding of steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
  • Experience with other fabrication machinery including brake press, shear, plate roller

 

Work Environment:

This position works in a manufacturing and fabrication shop environment where exposure to industrial conditions is common. The work environment typically includes:

  • Operation in a metal fabrication shop with exposure to machinery, moving mechanical parts, overhead cranes, forklifts, and material handling equipment
  • Regular exposure to loud noise levels requiring hearing protection
  • Exposure to dust, metal shavings, lubricants, oils, and occasionally welding fumes or mist
  • Varying indoor temperatures depending on season, weather, and shop ventilation
  • Standing and working near large forming equipment with pinch points and rotating components
  • Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to safety glasses, steel‑toed boots, gloves, and hearing protection

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift
  • Regular bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting
  • Frequent use of hands and arms to handle, position, and guide metal materials
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry materials weighing up to approximately 50 pounds, with heavier materials moved using mechanical assistance
  • Repetitive motions associated with feeding, aligning, and adjusting metal through rolling equipment
  • Ability to reach above shoulder height and work at floor level
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read measurements, gauges, and production documentation
  • Ability to work extended shifts, including overtime, as production demands require
